At Mini Mindfuls, we believe that the key to aiding a child's development both cognitively and emotionally is through the art of Mindful Play!
Mindful play simply uses PLAY to practice being fully present in each moment. This concept not only nurtures our children's overall well-being and development but also brings parents and caregivers into the practice of mindfulness as well!
So what is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the simple practice of being completely present in each moment and fully aware of our thoughts, feels and bodily functions and accepting of them.
There is an emerging body of research that indicates mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus. (huffingtonpost.com)
